One year celebrations of the new Management Team
National Transit Authority Management team Marks One Year of Progress and Innovation in Transportation Services.
Monrovia, Liberia – March 3, 2025 – The National Transit Authority (NTA) management team commemorated its first office anniversary on February 28, 2025, under the theme “Making Transportation Services Better.” The celebration, which began with a series of radio engagements led by the Managing Director Hon. Edmund Forh Forh, provided a platform for direct interaction with the public and highlighted the entity's achievements and plans for the future.
The NTA's management team, appointed by the President of the Republic of Liberia on February 22, 2024, consists of Hon. Edmund Forh Forh as Managing Director, Hon. Togar Melvin Cephas as Deputy Managing Director for Administration, and Hon. Noah Z. Gibson as Deputy Managing Director for Operations. Their tenure officially began on March 1, 2024, marking a significant transition as they aimed to revitalize the NTA’s operations “from scratch.”
In a celebratory event held at the NTA’s headquarters on February 28, the management team recognized and honored dedicated employees whose hard work contributed to the entity's successes over the past year. During his address, Managing Director Forh emphasized the importance of teamwork and the collective responsibility of employees in achieving the NTA's goals. He lamented that the progress is a testament to the commitment and hard work of the entire team.
The NTA Board of Directors also expressed its ongoing support for the management team. Speaking on behalf of the Board, the Chairman, Hon. Benedict Y. Harleyson, Sr. emphasized that the Board stands firmly behind the management team as they navigate the challenges of improving Liberia’s Public transport system. "We believe in their vision and commitment to excellence,” the Board Chair stated.
Among the noteworthy accomplishments cited by the management team were the introduction of new safety measures, enhancements in fleet management, and improved maintenance protocols that have led to increased reliability of our transit services. Additionally, plans for this year include the introduction of eco-friendly buses, further expansions in service routes, and community engagement initiatives aimed at fostering greater public participation in transit planning.
The program culminated with the dedication of three brand new Tata buses, a significant addition to the NTA’s fleet, which symbolizes the organization’s commitment to upgrading public transportation. Following the dedication ceremony, a spirited sports event took place, fostering camaraderie between the NTA staff and the local community.
