PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

We extend best wishes and gratitude to all our valued customers for their continued support and cooperation.

In line with our continuous effort in upgrading the quality of our services at the National Transit Authority, effective March 11, 2013, we are embarking on a new program named and styled “CITY- WIDE BUS RIDER SELF-PAYMENT PROGRAM”.

The City-Wide Bus Rider Self-Payment Program will ensure that commuters plying various routes in and around Monrovia make direct cash deposits into cash boxes at the entry point of each transit bus. The conductor will issue a ticket to the commuter after deposit. Therefore, commuters are advised to come with the exact transit fare as no change will be given after deposit is made.

This program is expected to achieve the following objectives:

1.         Strengthen transparency and accountability in revenue collection,

2.         Accord the riding public a sense of participation in our program,

3.         Create an atmosphere of convenience and trust between conductors and commuters.

We again want to emphasize that bus fares must not be paid to conductors but deposited into the cash boxes by commuters themselves. Once a deposit is made it will not be retrieved even if the commuter decides to leave before the bus takes off.

As we endeavor to make public transportation affordable, convenient and reliable, we anticipate your usual cooperation and compliance.
