FINANACIAL COMPTROLLER

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The financial comptroller is the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for supervising the quality of accounting, financial reporting of the National Transit Authority.

 

SCOPE

The financial Comptroller reports to the Managing Director

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all accounting and monitoring internal controls;
  • Ensure that all business transactions are properly authorized;
  • Guarantee that all records fairly and accurately reflect the transactions and occurrences to which they relate;
  • Make available all financial records to internal and external auditors as well as the Managing Director and Board of Directors.
  • Establish and update NTA accounting policies and practies in accordance with GAC guidelines.
  • Liaise with and report to the Managing Director and the Board as required to ensure the timeliness and integrity of financial reporting;
  • Work with independent auditors to establish and maintain the NTA audit plan;
  • Reconcile any disagreement management and independent auditors;
  • Manage the budget preparation function as determined by the Ministry of Finance;
  • Establish and review NTA financial risk assement and risk management policies;
